How to use social media to sell more books with @CreateSpace & @GuyKawasaki
Create Space is hosting two workshops with Guy Kawasaki, co author of APE: Author, Publisher, Entrepreneur — How to Publish a Book. Guy has written twelve books and has over six million followers over Google+, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Pinterest so, he knows writing and social media. Very well.
APE is written in three sections with the third being entrepreneur, this is the most crucial step of the self-publishing journey. Guy will provide tactical and practical ways to guerrilla market your book from his trial and error experiences with traditional publishers and his own two self-published books. From Chapter 22 in APE — How to Guerrilla Market Your Book:
Optimize Amazon’s Author Central
Author Central provides services to Kindle Direct Publishing authors, and it is a key component of your marketing efforts to Amazon customers. The main sections are:
• Books. This is a list of the books you are currently selling on Amazon. You can provide editorial review, book details, and “book extras” such as a “ridiculously simplified synopsis.”
• Profile. Your profile includes your biography, up to eight photos, up to eight videos, your blog feeds, and a calendar of your events. People see this when they visit your Amazon author page.
• Sales info. You can view the sales history of the print version of your book via major retailers. The sales tracking information is from BookScan, a service of the Nielsen Company. To see your ebook sales history, however, you need to go to the “Reports” tab of your Kindle Direct Publishing account.
• Customer reviews. You can read all the reviews of your book sorted by the date or number of stars.
Approximate cost: $0.
